Help Support Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar

At Hormex, our family roots run deep in Southern California. Today we are asking our community to help a neighbor we care about: Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar.

Who they are

Wildlife Learning Center (also known as Wildlife Learning and Conservation Center) was founded in 2007 to give lifelong care to animals in need and to teach the public about life sciences, conservation, and the environment we share. Nestled in an old olive grove in the San Fernando Valley, the shady acre at 16027 Yarnell Street, Sylmar, CA 91342 is home to more than 100 displaced, rescued, and zoo-born wild animals. Many cannot survive in the wild. Some were confiscated as illegal pets, some were relinquished by owners, and some are non-releasable after rehabilitation. WLC also joins Species Survival Plans and the Southern California Wildlife Confiscations Network to help animals in need.

What they provide

Visitors meet wildlife up close, learn from biologists, and see why sanctuary care matters. WLC brings life science outreach to schools, libraries, scout groups, and community programs across the region, reaching tens of thousands of students over the years. Among their ambassadors are rescued animals that help guests connect with wildlife and conservation.
